Concrete Bed

In 2009 I was approached by Vincenzo Raccuglia, a fine art student who, at the time, was working on a project called Cardboardworld highlighting the issues surrounding homelessness and aiming to help finding a solution.
He asked me if I was interested in collaborating on the project by producing a series of images that would have given a glimpse of the reality of being homeless.
Cardboardworld was exhibited at the Waterfront Museum in Swansea, and at the Senedd, the Welsh Parliament in Cardiff, as real-size 3D cardboard installation along with portraits of rough sleepers to confront politicians.
Raccuglia's design flaw ironically questioned why designers and society couldn't develop better living conditions for rough sleepers.
The project was made with the support of charity organizations such as The Wallich, Exousia Trust, YMCA and The Big Issue Wales.
