Pietro Bondi (b.1979, Palermo) is an independent documentary photographer currently based in Barcelona, Spain.
In 2003 he moved to South Wales where he lived for ten years. During this period, he studied and obtained a BA (hons) in photojournalism at Swansea Metropolitan University (UWTSD) and worked on long-term projects such as Tide Zero, documenting the life of a fisherman of Swansea Bay; Mario, the story of the Italian boxer Mario Maccarinelli and Concrete Bed documenting the struggle of rough sleepers in Wales in support of the project Cardboard World, and in collaboration with charity organisations such as The Wallich, YMCA, Street Football Wales and The Big Issue Cymru.
In 2012 moved to Salento, in southern Italy, where he lived for a couple of years and dedicated on another long-term project called Fieno & Popcorn, a photo-essay about the life of circus artists in one of the last remaining wild animal circuses in Italy.
In 2014 moved to the Netherlands where he lived for four years and dedicating mainly to street-photography.
In 2018 he moved to Barcelona, where he currently lives and works as freelance photographer.
