With its mix of hay and popcorn smell, bright lights, clowns and acrobats with breathtaking choreographies, the traditional circus has long been an icon of popular entertainment.
Nowadays, this world is facing significant challenges: Virtual entertainment, the economic crisis and the growing awareness of animal rights are contributing to its silent decline.
"Fieno & Popcorn" offers an intimate look at one of the last wild animal circuses in Europe, implicitly underlining the decline of this practice by documenting the last moments of an entertainment form destined to belong to the past.
The black and white images deliberately contrast with the colorful and carefree image typically associated with the circus.
